Luke Campbell and Derry Mathews find themselves in a classic crossroads fight, but who will edge closer to a world title shot?

The two lightweights face off at Liverpool's Echo Arena on Saturday live on Sky Sports 2.

But who do our panel of experts think will come out on top?

This is going to be a fantastic fight. We know exactly what we are going to get from Derry but we're not always sure what we are going to get from Luke. He found out against Yvan Mendy that things aren't always going to go his way in the pro game. Now he knows it can be very physical at times and even fighters who aren't actually the best tactically or technically can give you problems.

Against Mathews he is going to need to be on it technically, mentally and physically. I think they can both hit hard and I honestly can't see this being a points victory, just a KO - for either man. It will be a very close fight and the boxing skills lie with Luke but I just think the power for a stoppage lies with Mathews and that right hand.

I think it's going to be a cagey start, but once they get into it, it's one of those fights: Campbell could completely dominate him or Derry could catch him and just knock him out. He seems to be better than he was when I used to train with him and whether it's experience, boxing knowledge or just a new lease of life, Derry looks better than ever.

But if I had to put my money on anyone, I'd have to go for Campbell. For me, Jorge Rubio is a very good trainer and although we remember what happened with him, Amir Khan and Breidis Prescott, as long as Campbell can take on board what he tells him, I can see him winning. The safe money is for Campbell on points but it could even be a late stoppage.

What a great little match-up between two quality operators. It is a great blend, a boxer against a puncher and Campbell also has a bit of spite when he whips them in, but we know Derry has the power to knock out and give anyone trouble in that division. He has that hard, straight right that southpaws are susceptible to and we know Luke can go over.

Campbell though should be fresher and if you look at the miles on the clock for Derry, Luke should be sharper and nullify Derry on the way in. If you put a gun to my head I would have to go for Campbell, probably out-boxing him and winning on points. But while Derry Mathews is in the ring and throwing punches he's always got a chance.

It's the fight that I'm most looking forward to on the card and it should be really entertaining. Luke will be very fresh and is the younger man who really has something to prove after that first loss in his career. Derry on the other hand is a lot more experienced, he's had a lot of fights, and he's looked better recently than he did earlier on his career.

I just think Campbell will be that bit fresher and I fancy him to get a late stoppage. I can't see Derry stopping Luke, but you can never tell in a boxing ring.

Darren Barker

I'm looking forward to it a lot and it's a tricky one to call. It's youth versus experience. Although Campbell looks a lot younger than he actually is, he's a relative novice of the pro game compared to Mathews. Derry's prime is behind him though and although he has churned out some good wins in recent years, this may be a step too far.

Campbell's suffered a defeat and won't want that feeling again, it will have made him mentally tougher and I think his speed and class may be the difference. Campbell will be too classy on his way to a points victory.

My head and heart definitely say different things. Campbell is a top, top amateur, he's very slick and skills pay the bills, while Derry has been there, seen it, done it, a thousand times.

My head says Campbell out-boxes him but my heart is telling me different. This is the last chance saloon for Derry: he will take some calculated risks, let off some big, big shots and potentially, Mathews wins by stoppage..

Luke Campbell has to be on form because Mathews will be up for this, make no doubt about that. He has the experience and the proven record that shows that if he tries to take him on, he will take him out.

Campbell has the better boxing skill of course and now he's in the pro game he's tasted defeat and been put on his backside, he has the perfect platform in place. There is less pressure on him and what we now know is he wants tough fights - and he will get one. But I just think Campbell will win this and win well, a late stoppage, maybe due to cuts because of his precision.

I've got to say Luke Campbell is a fantastic talent and Derry is in the stage of his career where it is the very last chance saloon but he has been in that situation so many times, he's always got a chance. On paper you would have to say Campbell wins on points.

I can't see Campbell stopping him and yes, Derry lost to Terry Flanagan and he hits a bit harder than Luke, but he couldn't get him out of there. I do believe Campbell will get to the world title level that Flanagan's at so am sticking with a Campbell points win. You can never write Derry off though...

We know Mathews can certainly bounce back and we know he's always got a puncher's chance but I just think this is a big, big ask. Last time I saw him against Terry Flanagan I felt he looked a bit old and didn't think he could pull the trigger. I see this being a very similar fight.

I just feel that Campbell is going to be too fresh, he's going to be in and out, and even though Derry has a great team around him and they will have done their homework, I can just see Campbell being too smart and quick. It's only my opinion and it will either be clear a points win for Campbell or a late stoppage.
