Stephen Smith is keen to avenge his only career defeat and topple IBF world featherweight champion Lee Selby.
The 30-year-old Smith (22-1-KO12) takes on Devis Boschiero in an IBF super-featherweight eliminator on September 19 but is already talking about the long-term goal of renewing hostilities with Wales' Selby, who stopped him in eight in September 2011.
In an interview reported on boxingscene.com, Smith was enthusiastic over the prospect of enjoying home soil against Boschiero (37-3-1-KO19) and said: "I've had tick-over jobs. All last-minute because Eddie [Hearn] knows I'm in the gym all the time and ready if something comes up.
"It's not the best way to prepare but now I've got a full camp and will work to a game plan. It's been a long time since I've had a full camp working for an opponent."
It's a fight I'd never back away from because he's the only man to beat me.
Looking ahead to a possible Selby rematch, Smith added: "I've got his big one at super-featherweight. If I win this we'll both hold IBF titles in different divisions and it's a fight I'd never back away from because he's the only man to beat me.
"It'd be a massive fight, but I'm not looking past this one. I'm sure it can be made once I've got a world title and a bit of pulling power."
Another British fighter hoping to book a clash with Lee Selby is Commonwealth featherweight champion Josh Warrington, who faces Joel Brunker on Saturday night.
