Scott Quigg plans to "steal the show" when he makes his debut in the featherweight division on the Anthony Joshua bill on December 10.

The Bury man has not fought since he suffered a broken jaw in his points defeat to Carl Frampton in February and has decided to step up in weight after losing his WBA super-bantamweight title in their unification clash.

A move up to featherweight has kept alive Quigg's hopes of facing the winner of WBA champion Frampton's January rematch with Leo Santa Cruz, while IBF king Lee Selby could also be a future opponent in that division.

But Quigg knows he must first make a successful comeback on a packed undercard for Joshua's second defence of his IBF heavyweight title at Manchester Arena.

I've got the right platform to do it, Manchester Arena, massive bill and my goal is to go out there and steal the show.

"On December 10, I've got to go out there and make a statement and get people talking about me again," he told Sky Sports

"I've got the right platform to do it, Manchester Arena, massive bill and my goal is to go out there and steal the show. Put in a performance where people are talking about me and then start linking me with those names again.

"The division is thriving and not just the world champions. You've got Abner Mares, Jesus Cuellar, Gary Russell Jr. It's a packed division and these are the fights that I want to be involved in."

Quigg is remaining tight-lipped about possible opponents, although he is hopeful that a "big name" could be finalised this week.

"I've been speaking with Eddie Hearn," said the 28-year-old. "We're trying to get the biggest fight possible at featherweight.

"I know all the world champions are tied up at the minute, but obviously I need to get a good win under my belt, so we want a big name.

"We're looking at a few names and hopefully I will be speaking with Eddie later on today and hopefully something will be finalised in the next couple of days."
