Richard Gasquet steps up his injury comeback in North Carolina

Richard Gasquet got another win under his belt as he stepped up his return from injury by booking a place in the quarter-final of the Winston-Salem Open.

The Frenchman is playing just his second tournament since suffering a back injury at Wimbledon and made it through to the last eight after beating compatriot Stephane Robert 6-1 6-3.

"I didn't make many mistakes today and that was the difference," Gasquet told atpworldtour.com. "It was quite humid and hot on the court, so it's better to be able to finish in one hour."

He will now meet John Millman after the Australian was a 5-7 6-0 6-3 winner over Bjorn Frantangelo.

Second seed Roberto Bautista Agut came from a set down to beat Marcos Baghdatis 4-6 6-3 6-1, but third seed Pablo Cuevas was dumped out by Pablo Carreno Busta, the Spaniard claiming a 6-3 7-6 (7/1) win.
