England head coach Eddie Jones explains how he managed to pick up an eye injury during a training camp in the Algarve

Eddie Jones has introduced judo and UFC training to his England squad - but he looked like he had been taking part himself at Wednesday's Six Nations launch.

The Australian turned up for the event at the Hurlingham Club in south west London wearing a dressing next to a black eye.

Later removing it to reveal a large cut at his eye socket, Jones was sheepish when he was asked by Sky Sports News HQ reporter Gail Davis to explain how he had sustained his injuries.

He initially claimed on camera it happened while he was in Portugal with his squad for a pre-tournament training camp in the Algarve.

But Jones later admitted he fell over in the bathroom of his London hotel and said: "My mother always told me I've got to shave and I forgot to shave.

"I walked out of the shower to get the shaver and this is what happened. I follow what my mother says."

England claimed the Grand Slam last year as they won the tournament for the first time since 2011 and begin the defence of their title at Twickenham against France on February 4.
