Webb Simpson made a rapid move up the Masters leaderboard with back-to-back hole-out eagles during his final round at Augusta National.

The former US Open champion began the day on three over and some 17 strokes back from 54-hole leader Patrick Reed, only to make a significant leap with a fast start on Sunday.

Simpson posted a two-putt birdie at the second and got up and down from the rough to save par at the fifth, before the American left the putter in his bag with progress at the par-four seventh.

The 32-year-old slam-dunked his approach from the fairway for an eagle-two from 165 yards, with more magic to come at the par-five next.

After attacking the eighth green in two but finishing short of the dancefloor, Simpson then pitched in from just over 20 yards for a second eagle in as many holes.
