Dustin Johnson made one of the most unlikely birdies of his career after finding water early in his second round at The Players Championship.
Johnson had already got off to a rocky start with a bogey at the 10th - his first - and he looked certain to blot his card again at the par-five 11th, where he pushed his drive into the pine straw and an ambitious second failed to clear the water hazard.
The world No 1 took his penalty drop and left himself 106 yards to the pin, and the best he could have realistically hoped for was to knock his wedge in close and rely on his putter to scramble a par.
But Johnson went one better as he sent his fourth shot straight at the pin, his ball just clearing the huge bunker that surrounds the green, landing in the fringe and taking three bounces before dropping into the cup.
