The three UK sides at Euro 2016 have all qualified for the last-16 - but who would make it into a best XI of England, Wales and Northern Ireland players at the tournament?

With the help of WhoScored.com's statistically-based player ratings, we've selected the top-performing footballers from those countries in France who have made at least two appearances at the championships and put them into a classic 4-4-2 formation.

Five from Wales' squad make the grade, plus four from England and two Northern Ireland players…

Michael McGovern (Northern Ireland) - 7.27 WhoScored.com rating

The hero of the hour (and a half) against Germany. One had the feeling that if Northern Ireland were to continue the fairytale and progress to the round of 16 their goalkeeper would need to be in top form. That has certainly been the case for Michael McGovern, who has made 15 saves at Euro 2016 - more than any other goalkeeper going into the final day of the group stages. Eight of those stops came against Germany to ensure the World Cup holders could find the net just once and consequently secure Northern Ireland's place in the next round due to superior goal difference.

Kyle Walker (England) - 7.01

Named by Paul Merson as England's top performer at the championships to date, Kyle Walker has established himself as Hodgson's first choice right-back, despite Nathaniel Clyne's impressive display against Slovakia. The Spurs man proved to be a constant threat from the back against Russia and Wales, completing four dribbles per game - only Gareth Bale has completed more at the tournament thus far.

James Chester (Wales) - 7.60

Like Northern Ireland, Chris Coleman's side needed their defence to put in a good shift in order to reach the round of 16 and they haven't disappointed. James Chester stood out in particular following a frustrating season at West Brom, producing eight tackles and 13 interceptions in the group stages, with the latter currently the highest figure at the tournament.

Jonny Evans (Northern Ireland) - 7.36

Having played at both left-back and centre-back for Northern Ireland this summer, just as he did with West Brom last season, Jonny Evans has been outstanding in both positions. Credited with marking Robert Lewandowski out of the game in the group opener, the 28-year old has won three aerial duels per game, three tackles per game and produced two interceptions per game.

Ben Davies (Wales) - 7.59

Deployed on the left of a back three in Chris Coleman's favoured system, full-back Ben Davies has not looked at all out of place and, despite his relatively small stature, has stood up to any physical battles he has faced thus far. The Tottenham man's reading of the game has been particularly strong, with only aforementioned team-mate Chester producing more interceptions than Davies' 12 at the Euros so far.

Eric Dier (England) - 7.35

The highest rated England player to feature more than once so far, Eric Dier now looks to be the first name on Roy Hodgson's team sheet. Having shocked Three Lions fans by dispatching a fine free-kick to score England's first goal of their campaign, the youngster bounced back from a modest showing against Wales by showcasing some impressive vision and finesse against Slovakia. While keeping play ticking over with an excellent 89.5 per cent pass accuracy, Dier has also surprisingly had more shots than any other England player (9).

Wayne Rooney (England) - 7.26

Wayne Rooney has taken to the role of distributor in the England midfield with relative ease. Much of the talk ahead of the tournament was how Rooney would fit into this side but he has certainly played his part. The Manchester United skipper has supported attacks well, creating more chances than any team-mate (9) as well as firing off eight shots and completing seven dribbles.

Joe Allen (Wales) - 7.29

Something of an unsung hero in the Wales set-up, Joe Allen's impressive passing figures amongst a team that doesn't play possession football highlight his composure on the ball, even when others around him can be wasteful. His 86.9 per cent pass accuracy is the best of all Wales players to start all three group games and he registered a fine assist for Wales' opener against Slovakia. He has also broken up play, averaging three interceptions per game.

Aaron Ramsey (Wales) - 7.80

Like the entire Wales squad, Arsenal man Aaron Ramsey clearly loves representing his country and it's shown in his performances. Ramsey leads the way for assists at Euro 2016 (2) and got on the scoresheet himself against Russia. He's also put his foot in, with 11 tackles so far - equal third at the tournament. His rating puts him among the top 10 performing players at the tournament at this stage.

Gareth Bale (Wales) - 8.78

The top-rated player at Euro 2016 is Gareth Bale. The Wales ace has thrived under the pressure of being his team's main man and his three goals so far place him level with Alvaro Morata atop the goalscoring charts. The 26-year old has fired off twice as many shots on target as any other player to date, with a tally of twelve enough to better 16 teams as a whole in the group stages so far, including host nation France (11).

Daniel Sturridge (England) - 7.28

It's no coincidence that the top rated striker in this XI has only started one of two appearances at this stage, very much following the trend of centre forwards having a hard time of things in the group stages. Daniel Sturridge made an impact from the bench in England's meeting with Wales, netting an injury time winner to ensure his place in the starting XI against Slovakia. Try as he might, the Liverpool striker failed to find a way past club team-mate Martin Skrtel and co. However, one goal, seven shots, four key passes and five dribbles represents impressive figures across just 121 minutes of action.
