Mark Warburton says Rangers are lucky to have Frank McParland as their head of recruitment amid speculation he is poised to quit the club.
Newspaper reports have suggested that the former Liverpool chief scout is considering his future in Glasgow due to apparent boardroom unhappiness over his signings record and a lack of resources.
McParland, who was with Warburton at Brentford, is currently on holiday in Dubai but the Gers boss has robustly defended his colleague.
"I've said time and again - his track record is outstanding," Warburton said. "The latest one is Scott Hogan going to Villa [from Brentford], another gem, one of many that Frank McParland has signed.
"There would be no shortage of takers for someone of his quality. We are lucky to have him. He is one of the very best at what he does.
"He is head of our recruitment. It was a mischievous story and where it emanated from I have no idea. He is travelling again to look at players next week, he is as busy as ever."
