Jozo Simunovic insists he is fully focused on his future with Celtic after a deadline-day move to Italian side Torino fell through.

Widespread reports claimed the Croatia international, who has been plagued by injury since his arrival at Celtic Park last summer, had failed a medical with the Serie A side.

But the 22-year-old has taken to social media to put the record straight, claiming a disagreement between the the clubs over the terms of the deal scuppered the move.

Celtic were keen for Simunovic to move to Italy on a permanent deal but it is believed Torino were looking for an initial loan switch.

Writing on his Twitter account, the former Dinamo Zagreb central defender said: "A lot has been said in the last few days. I prefer to talk on the field but this time I want to say something to the Celtic fans who have always supported me, and as a player that means a lot to me.

"Behind me is a turbulent period, starting from injury until the transfer to Turin. I just want to say that it is not true that I have not passed a medical in Turin.
