Alan Curtis says Swansea defended well at White Hart Lane but Tottenham's constant pressure finally broke them down

Alan Curtis believes Tottenham are the best Premier League side Swansea have faced this term, following their 2-1 defeat at White Hart Lane.

The Swansea assistant boss praised his players for keeping Mauricio Pochettino's side at bay for as long as they did, but admits their opponents had too much quality in the end.

Alberto Paloschi ensured Swansea led at the break, but goals from Nacer Chadli and Danny Rose sealed a win which kept Tottenham just two points behind Premier League leaders Leicester.

"It was difficult because Spurs kept on coming and coming. When you see it first hand, you see what a very good team they are. They have a bit of everything really; pace, power and technical ability as well," Curtis said.

"We knew it was going to be a tough game and it certainly was a tough game. We had to defend for long periods, but we created some good opportunities in the first half, took the goal, led at half-time but all credit to Spurs."

Curtis insists there is no reason why Spurs can't go on to win the title after showing how good they were on Sunday by coming from behind to win.

"Yeah, absolutely [Tottenham can win the title] especially when you see them close at hand there. I think they've got every opportunity," Curtis added.

"I would have to say they are the best team we have played this season. I thought they were terrific and credit to our boys for staying in the game as long as we did.

"We had given ourselves an opportunity to get something out of this, but probably more credit to Spurs that they kept on coming and it was probably difficult to keep them out in the end."
