Marcus Edwards has returned to Tottenham from his loan at Norwich City, with the Canaries boss Daniel Farke citing 'personal reasons'.
Farke revealed the 19-year-old's spell at Carrow Road, which was due to run until the end of the season, had been ended after Tuesday's 1-1 draw at Sunderland.
Edwards has previously had his attitude questioned by Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, after he originally compared the attacking midfielder to five-time Balon d'Or winner Lionel Messi in 2016.
Writing in his recent book release 'Brave New World', Pochetino said: "He has authority and behavioural problems, and we have to look at the bigger picture to find out the root cause.
"There was a time when it would have been seen as impossible for him to play professionally, let alone make it in the Premier League."
After signing Edwards on loan in January, Farke also said the skilful foward needed to "be more grown up in his attitude on the pitch and in his behaviour", but Farke subsequently admitted in March that his attitude had improved.
Edwards' only appearance for Norwich during his four-month spell came in a 2-0 home defeat to Fulham in March.
