Thierry Henry should move into management, says Thomas Meunier

Thierry Henry would have an advantage over other managers, if he chooses to become one, because of his illustrious playing career, says Thomas Meunier

Thierry Henry has the ability to become a successful manager, and it is time he moved into a top job, says Belgium defender Thomas Meunier.

Sky sources understand Henry is a leading contender to replace Leonardo Jardim as Monaco manager, and he was in the running to succeed Steve Bruce at Aston Villa.

The former Arsenal forward left his role at Sky Sports this summer to focus on his ambition of becoming a manager, and he currently works as part of Roberto Martinez's backroom staff with Belgium.

Meunier has worked under Henry for the last two years with the national team, and he said: "He was a player and he has an advantage on the other coaches who didn't get a professional career.

"Psychologically he knows what to do. He knows how to speak to the players.
