Kaushal Silva has been passed fit for Sri Lanka's Test tour of England and is named in a squad featuring two uncapped batsmen.

The opener was hit on the head while fielding during a practice match earlier this month and later treated for mild concussion, but his name was among 17 confirmed for a three-Test series.

Dasun Shanaka and Dhananjaya de Silva will both hope to make their Test debuts, with Lahiru Thirimanne's ongoing hamstring injury making him a doubt for the May 19 Headingley opener.

Left-arm spinner Rangana Herath, who quit limited-overs cricket earlier this month to focus solely on Tests, is one of two slow bowlers, while seamer Shaminda Eranga is included after an injury-hit 2015.

Durham hosts the second Test from May 27, and the final match at Lord's begins on June 9.
