Pakistan's proud record in the United Arab Emirates continues but who played a starring role in the 2-0 win over England and who were the make-weights?

Bob Willis has already rated the tourists. Here's are Aamir Sohail's player ratings…

MOHAMMAD HAFEEZ - 8/10
380 runs @ 63.33

AAMIR SAYS: The opener really delivered for Pakistan when it mattered - look at how crucial those second-innings runs in Sharjah were, for example. His batting has come on of late, not least because he's no longer bowling.

MISBAH-UL-HAQ - 9/10
352 runs @ 58.66

AAMIR SAYS: Under his leadership Pakistani cricket has been in the media for all the right reasons; you really have to give it to him for the way he has maintained discipline and led by example, both as a captain and a batsman.

ASAD SHAFIQ - 8/10
326 runs @ 54.33

AAMIR SAYS: I've liked watching this youngster from the first time I saw him. When I was Director of the National Academy I invited him to a camp and he really impressed everybody. He had a bit of a flaw in his technique but he worked on it and now he's well-suited to bat at number six for Pakistan. It's a crucial position whether you're team is well-set or not.

YOUNIS KHAN - 8/10
302 @ 50.33

AAMIR SAYS: What more is there to say about him? He's been superb for Pakistan for so long now that you almost expect it of him. He added to his hundred tally in this series, which was no surprise.

SHOAIB MALIK - 6/10
292 runs @ 48.66
11 wickets @ 20.72

AAMIR SAYS: He started off very well with that double hundred and his bowling came in handy but once you get worked out as an international batsman you have to go back to the nets and improve. Instead, he didn't have a clue after that innings.

He's considered his options and decided that if he's not dealing with things properly at number three, where can he bat given Younis, Misbah and Shafiq are playing well? The only other option is to open; he's not suited to that and Pakistan go to England next year so he decided the time had come to say goodbye to Test match cricket.

SARFRAZ AHMED - 7/10
139 runs @ 27.80

AAMIR SAYS:
I expected more from him and Asad Shafiq in this series; he didn't come to the fore as much as I thought he would. He did well with his wicketkeeping.

AZHAR ALI - 6/10
34 runs @ 17

AAMIR SAYS: That hundred partnership with Mohammad Hafeez in the second innings at Sharjah turned the game for Pakistan - it was a crucial stand after Pakistan conceded a first-innings lead for the first time in the series.

SHAN MASOOD - 6/10
58 runs @14.50

AAMIR SAYS: He was slightly unfortunate to be dropped for the third Test. This is a young guy who is developing as a cricketer. He scored a fifty and the selectors should have stuck with him. There was no need to bring in Azhar Ali as an opener - he's not going to do it in the future, you'd imagine.

YASIR SHAH - 8/10
15 wickets @ 21.53
27 runs @ 9.00

Image: Yasir Shah celebrates with Sarfraz Ahmed and Wahab Riaz

AAMIR SAYS: He's been just superb in this series. He really made the difference for Pakistan in the two Tests he played. He's been very fortunate to keep playing in the UAE and Bangladesh and there are greater tests to come; he's the type of character who likes a challenge.

WAHAB RIAZ - 7/10
8 wickets @ 43.37
30 runs @ 7.50

AAMIR SAYS: After the first Test he was looking to pitch the ball up more and he was using the short ball as a surprise delivery. He troubled the batsman more because he was shaping the occasional ball in.

ZULFIQAR BABAR - 7/10
9 wickets @ 45.44
10 runs @ 3.33

Image: Zulfiqar Babar gave Misbah control from one end

AAMIR SAYS: The other bowlers paired off with him very nicely - often he played second fiddle but he offered his captain control; he wasn't going for plenty of runs. He had the batsmen under control. I thought he was unlucky not to pick up more wickets.

RAHAT ALI - 7/10
4 wickets @ 39.25

He's been bowling well without stepping too much into the limelight. He helped his captain out when he was given the opportunity.

IMRAN KHAN - 7/10
6 wickets @ 24.66

AAMIR SAYS: I think he's a very intelligent bowler. He doesn't just have ability with the older ball but he can use the new ball very well. He's a very decent future prospect for Pakistan. He did well.
