Joe Root is hopeful England will be able to wrap up victory in the second Test against the West Indies after his unbeaten century put them in a decent position after the third day in Grenada.
Root's 118 not out, from 118 balls and featuring 13 fours and two sixes, helped England reach 373-6 at stumps for a lead of 74.
Captain Alastair Cook also made 76 in a century stand with Jonathan Trott (59) for the first wicket, while Gary Ballance added 77 and shared a 165-run partnership with Root on St George's Day in St George's.
The end of the day was slightly marred by the loss of three quick wickets, though, with Ballance, Moeen Ali and Ben Stokes all departing, leaving Jos Buttler (four) to start day four alongside Root.
When asked about England's chances of victory, Root told Sky Sports: "Absolutely. We've got plenty of batting left in that dressing room.
"Build a partnership with Jos tomorrow morning and hopefully we get a big score and only have to bat once.
"(We) had a blip towards the end there but there is still plenty of batting left in that dressing room and fingers crossed we can kick on and make a big first innings score."
Root's personal effort was his sixth Test century and he also equalled the England Test record of six consecutive scores of 50 or more.
The Yorkshireman added: "I'm just trying to score as many runs as I can each time. The more I can make over a hundred, the better.
"I feel good. My movements are very good at the minute. You go through blips (in your career) and the key now for me is to score as many as I can while I have this going for me."
Meanwhile, Trott was pleased with how the tourists set up the game, and hailed Root's performane.
"Almost 300 runs in the day is a pretty good effort and Joe's gone on and got a big hundred to put us in a really good position," he said.
"He was probably a bit frustrated watching Alastair and I cloth it everywhere and not hit boundaries. He came in and showed the guys how.
"I don't think cricket is ever easy but he certainly makes it look relatively easy. He's mature beyond his years and a fine player to have in the dressing room."
Trott answered some of the criticisms levelled at him after he struggled on his Test comeback in Antigua, but was still after more than his 59 runs.
"Alastair and I were really pleased to put on a good start but I'm sure both of us are disappointed we couldn't go on and make a bigger score," he said.
"You don't spend all those hours in the nets to get fifties, you go there to get match defining hundreds.
"But we get on pretty well, we've got a good understanding in the middle and it was nice to get back in the groove."
