Charlie Edwards produced a six-round points win over Jose Aguilar in Germany ahead of his tilt at a world flyweight title.

The precocious Surrey fighter moved to 8-0-KO3 by outclassing Nicaragua's Aguilar (16-26-4-KO6) with an assured technical display at Berlin's Max Schmelling Halle.

Although the performance fell short of yielding a stoppage, Edwards put six valuable rounds in the bank to tee up his clash with IBF world flyweight king John Riel Casimero on the Gennady Golovkin v Kell Brook undercard on September 10.

Earlier in the evening, another British hope Anthony Ogogo was in ruthless form to halt Bronislav Kubin inside two rounds.

The Olympic bronze medallist (11-0-KO7), who was previously seen demolishing Frane Radnic within a round on June 25, had far too much speed and power for the Czech (19-21-2-KO12).

Having seemingly put his injury nightmares behind him, Ogogo is on the hunt for big domestic fights and will have done that aim no harm with another efficient finish.
