Guillermo Rigondeaux marked his UK debut with a two-round stoppage of Jazza Dickens, who was pulled out with what appeared to be a broken jaw.

The enigmatic Cuban (17-0-KO11) retained the WBA Super world super-bantamweight title in Cardiff when Dickens' corner withdrew their man after he sustained the cleanest of overhand lefts.

Southpaw Rigondeaux, who had been due to fight Dickens earlier in the year only to withdraw due to work permit issues, began tentatively and missed with his first two attempts at landing back-hands before finding the mark with the third.

Dickens was far from looking overwhelmed by the visitor's famed skills and tried a combination of his own, prompting a riposte from Rigondeaux that gave way to a steely stare between the two at the end of the opener.

The promise of that moment was unfulfilled by the second session, which was cagey before Rigondeaux landed a huge left-hand lead. Dickens bravely responded with a clean picked left hand of his own but when he took his seat after the bell he was clearly in pain.
