Kell Brook targets summer mega-fight after Kevin Bizier clash

By Dev Trehan

Kell Brook is back and ready to fight in his hometown of Sheffield for the first time in a year - with the promise of a huge summer fight next

Kell Brook says he feels like a "caged animal" and has vowed to unleash his frustration on Kevin Bizier at the Sheffield Arena on Saturday, live on Sky Sports.

Brook makes a mandatory defence of his IBF welterweight world title against Canadian challenger Bizier, after being forced to pull out of a clash with Argentina's Diego Chaves last autumn due to a rib injury.

And the unbeaten 29-year-old has promised to make light work of his opponent as he targets a blockbuster fight against a high-profile opponent in the summer.

"I'm a caged animal but I'm comfortable in my own surroundings here, and I'm excited to get back in there on Saturday and put a real show on for all the fans." Brook told Sky Sports News HQ at an open workout session at the iconic Sheffield Winter Garden.

Johnny Nelson got all he could handle when he stepped back in the ring with Kell Brook for some sparring!

"Frustrating is not the word I'd use to describe the last six months. Seeing all of those elite fighters fighting, I want a piece of that.

"I'm world champion and I just want to be in cracking fights, those really exciting, competitive fights. Saturday night we're going to take care of Kevin Bizier, we're going to get the job done and then Eddie Hearn will have something really big lined up for us in the summer."

Brook the heir to Floyd's throne

Brook can be world's best at welter, says Carl Froch

Former Brook opponent Jo Jo Dan is the only man to have defeated Bizier in the professional ranks, and 'The Special One' is refusing to underestimate the challenger, who has recorded 25 wins in his career.

"He's going to be hungry, he's come over from Canada and he's hungry for that world title," Brook said.

"Every fighter's dream is to win that world title and that's why this is a world championship match-up. It's going to be very competitive.

"But I've done everything. I've been training for a long, long time. I'm hungry, I'm cold, I have a grizzly beard and I'm ready to tear someone up. Saturday night can't come quick enough and I'm really excited."
