Johanna Konta failed to reach the last eight at Eastbourne as she was beaten in three sets by Australian Open champion Caroline Wozniacki.

Wozniacki fought back after losing the first set to prevail 4-6 6-1 6-4 in two hours and 10 minutes and she will meet Australia's Ashleigh Barty in the quarter finals.

Konta had won her previous two matches against Wozniacki and made a bright start, breaking in the very first game and then holding serve to go 2-0 up.

Wozniacki hit back to level the set at 3-3 but Konta responded, breaking again and going on to close out the set.

However, Wozniacki produced a clinical display in the second set, passing Konta when the Brit came to the net and converting two of her three break point opportunities.

The top-seeded Dane also took charge at the start of the third set but Konta bravely held from 0-40 down to get back to 3-4.
