Andre Agassi has announced that he has ended his player-coach relationship with former world No 1 Novak Djokovic.

Agassi joined the Djokovic camp ahead of last year's French Open in the hope he could help the Serbian regain his best form as he battled back from injury.

But the American great - an eight-time Grand Slam winner - has ended the coaching relationship with the 30-year-old due to personal differences.

"With only the best intentions I tried to help Novak," Agassi said in a statement released to ESPN. "We far too often found ourselves agreeing to disagree. I wish him only the best moving forward."

The 12-time Grand Slam champion missed the final six months of last season before undergoing a 'small medical intervention' as he desperately tried to return from a persistent elbow problem.

But suffering a shock defeat to Hyeon Chung in the fourth round of the Australian Open in January, he has since lost back-to-back matches at Indian Wells and Miami, slumping to three successive defeats for the first time since 2007.

Djokovic has won just one title - the Aegon International in Eastbourne in July - under Agassi.
