Tomas Berdych and Alexander Zverev both make progress in Rotterdam

Former Rotterdam Open champion Tomas Berdych booked his place in the second round of this year's tournament along with Alexander Zverev.

Berdych, who won the title in 2014, recovered from a 3-5 first-set deficit against Mischa Zverev to win 7-5 6-3 and reach the next stage of the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament.

Highlights of Alexander Zverev's victory over David Ferrer in Rotterdam

Alexander Zverev also reached the second round in Rotterdam as the young up and coming German took out veteran Spaniard David Ferrer 6-4 6-3.

Feliciano Lopez recorded a 6-3 7-6 (7-4) victory over 2016 champion Martin Klizan while Andreas Seppi made the most of his good fortune after slipping into the main draw as a "lucky loser".

Seppi had lost to Klizan on Sunday, but the Italian recovered from a second-set wobble against Joao Sousa to win 6-4 1-6 6-2.

At the Argentina Open, home favourite Federico Delbonis beat Germany's Florian Mayer 7-6 (7-4) 6-4 in the first round.

Brazilian qualifier Thomaz Bellucci overpowered Pedro Cachin 6-2 6-1, and Dusan Lajovic also reached the last 16 with a 7-6 (7-4) 6-1 win against Facundo Bagnis.
