Wimbledon champion Garbine Muguruza is to rekindle her working partnership with Conchita Martinez.

Martinez temporarily stepped into regular coach Sam Sumyk's shoes for 2017's Wimbledon championships.

Although she withdrew from the Muguruza camp after the success last summer, Martinez has returned to the team to work alongside Sumyk.

The 24-year-old will be aiming to rediscover her form in the upcoming hard-court tournaments in Doha, Dubai, Indian Wells and Miami.

With Sumyk at home awaiting the birth of his child, the all-Spanish pairing proved a remarkable combination on the grass of the All England Club.

Muguruza, 14th seed, swept through the tournament, dropping just one set en route to the final, where she comprehensively beat Venus Williams 7-5, 6-0 to clinch a second grand slam title.

Martinez said: "Returning to work next to Garbine is very gratifying.

"She is a great professional and hard-working, she demands a lot and her levels of intensity are always high, so it is a great challenge for me to start this new stage with her."

Former world No 1 Muguruza is currently ranked fourth and crashed out in the second round of last month's Australian Open with a straight-sets defeat to Su-Wei Hsieh, ranked 88th.
