Alexander Zverev was the big-name casualty on day six of the Australian Open and his challenge unravelled after the German struggled with his sight in the Australian summer daylight.
The German fourth seed's Grand Slam struggles - Zverev is yet to progress past the fourth round - continued with a five-set defeat to Hyeon Chung in the third round after failing to make the most of a two-sets-to-one lead over his South Korea opponent.
Zverev's meltdown started to boil to the surface during the fourth set, with Chung in the ascendancy leading 4-1, when he argued with the umpire about why the lights were not turned on with the match being played in late afternoon overcast conditions in Melbourne.
"I can't see the ball," Zverev told the umpire.
The lights were quickly put on by tournament officials but Chung was in complete control during the fifth set and when the world No 58 went a double break ahead Zverev took out his anger on his racket to boos from the watching Rod Laver crowd.
Zverev won just three of the last 12 games in the match as Chung secured a fourth-round meeting with six-time Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic.
