Laura Robson safe but in shock after shootings on Las Vegas strip

Former British No 1 Laura Robson has confirmed she is safe but is in shock after being caught up in the Las Vegas shootings.

Robson assured followers on Twitter she was okay after being involved in what she describes as a "scary" incident.

The 23-year-old said she had heard what she thought were "fireworks" before people around her started to run.

"My friend who was deeper in the crowd has been helping people who were shot. We're all in shock," Robson wrote on Twitter.

Robson was in Las Vegas to play in a tournament and was attending an open air music festival which was attacked by a gunman.

At least 50 people have been killed and more than 200 others injured after the shooting on the Las Vegas strip.

Police say that the suspected gunman has been shot dead.
