Maria Sharapova should not be given a wildcard entry into next month's French Open, according to Agnieszka Radwanska.
Sharapova returns to the WTA Tour as a wildcard in Stuttgart next week after serving a 15-month ban for a doping offence.
Current world No 1 Angelique Kerber called the Stuttgart organisers' decision "a little strange", while men's No 1 Andy Murray has also made known his feelings on the issue.
And now Radwanska has called for Sharapova, a two-time French Open winner, to start from scratch rather than walk straight into the Roland Garros draw.
A decision on wildcards is expected on May 15, and eighth-ranked Radwanska said: "Maria should rebuild her career in a different way, beginning with smaller events.
"This kind of entry into the tournament should be available only for players who were dropped in the ranking due to injury, illness or other random accident. Not for those suspended for doping.
"She wouldn't have a chance for [a wildcard] from my hands.
"So far she hasn't been invited to play at slams in Paris and London and in my opinion that's how it should remain. She should win her place thanks to good results."
This year's French Open starts on May 28 without Serena Williams, who this week announced she is pregnant.
