England World Cup star Mark Cueto ran in two tries, while Lee Thomas landed 16 points as Sale romped to a 53-14 victory over Petrarca in the European Challenge Cup.
Cueto, scorer of the try that never was in the World Cup final, crossed once in each half for the Sharks at the Sergio Lanfranchi Stadium.
Scottish international Rory Lamont also scored twice in the rout, while there were also tries for Chris Day, Lionel Faure, Dean Schofield and David Tait.
With Charlie Hodgson given the afternoon off, Welshman Thomas stepped up to the mark to pick up a 16-point haul.
