Ospreys have pledged their backing towards Stonewall's Rainbow Laces campaign which aims to support inclusion and equality for the LGBT community.

The Welsh regional outfit, who have suffered 11 losses in their past 13 league and European fixtures, will host French Top 14 powerhouses Clermont in the European Rugby Champions Cup on Sunday, in a designated Rainbow Laces fixture, where players, staff and supporters will be invited to wear rainbow laces at the Liberty Stadium.

The campaign, backed by Sky Sports, which aims to welcome and accept LGBT people at all levels of sport and has already received the support of the Premier League, English Football League, the Football Association, Rugby Football Union, the English Cricket Board and a host of sports clubs around Britain.

Stonewall works with sports clubs at all levels to show that supporting diversity, in all its forms, is the easiest way to build a more supportive and high-performing team, and a strong and loyal following.

Andrew Millward, Managing Director Ospreys Rugby, said: "We are absolutely committed to making sure everyone feels welcome at the Liberty Stadium, and part of the team.

"We have a diverse workforce and supporter base, and are fully behind the Rainbow Laces campaign and the inclusion message that it promotes. Whatever your sexuality, gender, age or ability, everybody is exactly the same.
