Nigel Davies warned there was more to come from his new-look Gloucester side after they bounced back from their Aviva Premiership opening day defeat to win 40-31 at London Irish.
Director of rugby Davies praised his players for responding to defeat at home by Northampton with a victory over London Irish.
Davies said: "Our commitment and resilience is 100 per cent - our performance level is about 60. We can still get a lot better.
"One of the strengths we have in the squad is that we can put out a very competitive 23-man squad who can all make a big contribution.
"We will take a lot of confidence from this result."
Davies picked out 22-year-old fly-half Freddie Burns who kicked 25 points and laid on the all-important second try for left-wing James Simpson-Daniel, whose touchdown changed the course of the match.
Davies said: "Freddie was fantastic today. He's still young although he appears to have been around for a long time.
"He's really enthusiastic and it's great to work with somebody like that."
England number eight Ben Morgan's first try fo the club had got Gloucester back in the game after they trailed 14-9 as the interval approached.
Morgan beat four men on his way to the line and Davies said: "It was crucial. We had been on the back foot for most of that half. Ben showed what he is capable of doing.

"We have a relatively young side - particularly the backline, which is new. They are learning how to gel and evolve and it will get better."
Irish conceded 40 points for the second successive week after being thrashed 40-3 by Saracens in the London double header at Twickenham seven days earlier.
Director of rugby Brian Smith said: "It's disappointing but the big positive is that it was a much improved performance from last week.
"From an attack point of view we were a lot better today. We gave ourselves a chance to win the game - last week we weren't in the game.
"From a defence point of view we just need to close things out a bit better.
"To concede two late tries is disappointing but there's things to work on. We need to tidy up things up front and sort out the infringements."
