Coming into the match these teams were 10th and 11th respectively in the league, but an easy win for the hosts was never in doubt after Fionn Carr went over in the fifth minute. The winger opened the scoring out wide and his try was converted impressively by Dan Parks from the touchline.
Treviso got themselves on the scoreboard with a penalty from Matt Berquist but flanker John Muldoon soon answered back for the hosts. It was a well worked maul from Connacht that allowed the former Ireland international the chance to score and Parks slotted over an easier conversion.
Parks and Berquist exchanged penalties before Connacht added a third try six minutes before the break. Scrum-half Kieran Marmion dummied his way over to celebrate his 50th provincial appearance for the Irish outfit - Parks again converted to leave his side 24-6 ahead at the interval.
The conditions worsened in Galway as the match went on and that showed in the second half with just a further fourteen points being added, all for the hosts.
The first of those came courtesy of Muldoon as he scored his second of the evening. He was again able to capitalise after good work from the rest of his pack as Connacht secured the bonus point with 18 minutes to spare.
Number eight Eoin McKeown soon followed his back row partner over the line from a scrum and Parks' conversion added the final points of the match.
