Bristol enjoyed a comfortable 39-13 victory over newly-promoted Leeds Carnegie at the Memorial Stadium on Sunday.
Bristol were in control of the match from the second minute when Neil Brew scored the first of his two tries, and the result never looked in doubt after that score.
Brew had only been promoted to the starting line-up by Richard Hill following Josh Taumalolo failing a fitness test, resulting in David Hill switching to full-back and Brew coming in at centre.
Jason Strange kicked 12 points for Bristol to set a new club record by breaking the 637 scored by Mark Tainton in his 10-year career with the club.
Brew's try was converted by Strange for an early Bristol lead after just two minutes, but Alberto Di Bernardo reduced the deficit for Leeds with a 40-metre penalty five minutes later.
Strange added two more penalties for a 13-3 half time lead for the home side, but Di Bernardo hit back again for Leeds with a drop goal the first score of the second half.
Andrew Blowers went over by the posts after a serious of driving mauls by Bristol in the 52nd minute, and Strange kicked his second conversion for 20-6.
Brew grabbed his second try on the hour mark, before David Lemi secured a try-scoring bonus point for Bristol for the first time this season with his score on 64 minutes.
Tom Biggs scored a consolation try for Leeds ten minutes before the end, but there was still time for Lemi to add his second try on 73 minutes to seal a comfortable win.
The win saw Leeds still without an away victory so far this season, and with just one success since returning to the top flight.
