A late drop kick from Ceri Sweeney earned the Dragons their first victory in this season's Heineken Cup as they edged out Treviso 35-33 in Italy.
After losing their first two matches, the Dragons collected a bonus-point win after a blistering first half hour.
Marius Goosen's early penalty put Treviso in front, but the Welsh side responded moments later with the first try of the match through Colin Charvis.
Sweeney added the first of three successful conversions, with the second following Rhys Thomas' try just two minutes later.
A third try, scored by Rhodri Gomer-Davies, gave the Dragons a 19-3 lead, but the Italians staged a remarkable fightback which almost saw them steal the points.
Nicolas De Gregori began the comeback with a try - converted by Goosen - on the stroke of half time, but a Richard Mustoe try restored the Dragons' cushion, with Sweeney once more adding the extras.
Goosen's kicking was accurate once more when Lucas Borges touched down in the 49th minute and Alberto Sgarbi then crossed to put Treviso within five points of their visitors.
Two penalties from Goosen edged Treviso in front for only the second time in the match, only for Sweeney to intervene and take the points for the Dragons in the 72nd minute.
