Challenge Cup fifth round: Wigan Warriors v Hunslet Hawks preview

While the Warriors overcame the likes of St Helens and Bradford over the Easter programme while Hunslet overcame Oldham 38-12 at home on Good Friday.

Wigan head coach Shaun Wane welcomes back Matt Bowen, Joe Burgess, Matty Smith and Scott Taylor after missing the Easter Monday game against Bradford.

Youngsters Dom Manfredi, Ryan Hampshire, George Williams and Ryan Sutton all retain their places in the squad and are joined by under 19's prop forward Ben Austin in the squad. Dom Crosby returns from injury to replace the suspended Gil Dudson.

Wigan have themselves only lost once at home, in their season opener against Huddersfield and that record is unlikely to change this weekend against the Hawks, who top the table in Championship One, two levels below Super League.

But Perth-born Dan Sarginson insists there is no chance of the Warriors taking their opponents lightly despite their lower-flight status.

"There's no better club to be at to win trophies and that's exactly why I've come here to Wigan really," said Sarginson.

Can't wait

"We know we've had an easier draw than some other teams, obviously Leeds Rhinos and St Helens coming up against each other is good for us, but we can't wait for the weekend.

"We've looked at them on video but there's always the thought that a big side might go in underprepared. We won't do that, we'll prepare fully just as we would for any team we come up against. Hopefully we'll do well this weekend and kick on into the quarter-finals."

Hawks' Danny Maun, who joined during the close-season from Batley, is relishing going head-to-head with a Super League giant, telling the club's official website: "I have never played against them and I have always wanted to.

"It was brilliant to get that draw. When I was at Batley we always used to get Catalan Dragons or London Broncos - we played both of them twice - and we played St Helens once, when they were the top team.

"But going to Wigan will be a magic trip for us and it is going to be massive for the fans and the young kids in the team. I think they will benefit massively.

"It has been hard not to think about it since the draw was made. It is great for the club and hopefully they will make a bit of money out of it."
