St Helens coach Daniel Anderson has made only one change from last weekend's shock 24-10 defeat to Catalans Dragons.
Sean Long comes into the team that lost in France as a straight replacement for Matty Smith.
Prop Maurie Fa'asavalu could make his first Super League start for more than three years in the absence of Nick Fozzard and Jason Cayless.
"We won't need any motivating to get up for this game," Anderson told the St Helens official website.
"We know we can play better as a team and it will be a real challenge for us.
"If we needed a bit of a jolt to get going, then this is it."
Wigan have to make do without the inspirational Gareth Hock for the sell-out Good Friday derby at Knowsley Road.
Second rower Joel Tomkins takes the place of Great Britain international Hock in the Warriors squad, while 19-year-old back rower Lee Mossop has also been included.
Pat Richards continues to deputise at full-back for the suspended Richard Mathers.
St. Helens squad: Wellens, Gardner, Gidley, Talau, Meli, Pryce, Long, Gilmour, Wilkin, Roby, Bennett, Flannery, Graham, Hargreaves, Smith, Clough, Tyrer, Fa'asavalu, Eastmond.
Wigan Warriors squad: Calderwood, Goulding, Carmont, Richards, Barrett, Leuluai, Fielden, Higham, Paleaaesina, Bailey, O'Loughlin, Colbon, Coley, Hansen, McIlorum, J. Tomkins, O'Carroll, Coyle, Mossop.
