Super League: Huddersfield Giants run in 12 tries at Bradford Bulls

The Giants ran in 12 tries - Scott Grix, Ukuma Ta'ai, Jermaine McGillvary and Jow Wardle all grabbing two apiece - to inflict a heavy defeat on the Bulls, who had not conceded 60 points or more since a loss at Wigan in August of 2011.

All this unfolded in front of prospective new owner Mandy Koukash, present at the game alongside husband and Salford Red Devils owner Marwan.

Francis Cummins could certainly do with an injection of funds to boost his squad - with Adam Sidlow ruled out through illness and loan recruit Anthony Mullally unable to play against his parent club, Bradford started with just one specialist prop.

Their cause was not helped by conceding inside the first minute, Tom Olbison's knock on from the kick-off allowing Grix the chance to break the deadlock.

Rare highlight

The Bulls actually led 6-4 when Adam Henry crossed for the first of his brace, Jamie Foster's converting the 10th-minute effort. However, that was a rare highlight in what turned out to be a seriously one-sided first half.

Huddersfield were back in front when former Bradford centre Wardle went over from Danny Brough's pass, then soon after loose forward Michael Lawrence touched down.

Grix grabbed his second following an offload by England forward Brett Ferres but the best of the lot came when Luke Robinson finished off a 60-metre move started by hooker Kyle Wood's break down the middle.

Jason Chan went through a huge gap for his first try of the season and with Brough adding his fourth conversion, the score was 32-6 at the break in favour of the visitors.

The Bulls pulled a try back early in the second half through Henry but the Giants responded in ruthless fashion to conceding, scoring three more themselves in a 10-minute spell.

The half-back combination of Brough and Robinson combined to get substitute Ta'ai over by the posts before Ferres crafted a second try for Wardle. Not to be left out, winger McGillvary got his first of the day just before the hour.

Bradford's replacement hooker Adam O'Brien prompted a brief celebration from Mrs Koukash when he took a tap penalty to force his way over from close range and Foster kicked a third goal.

Still, Huddersfield - who had not tasted victory since beating Wigan in the opening match of the Super League season - continued to pile on the points.

Ta'ai bulldozed his way over and Ferres got a try his performance deserved when the hosts failed to successfully deal with a kick from full-back Grix.

McGillvary managed to notch the 15th try of the game with six minutes to play and Brough slotted over the extras, making it nine successful kicks for the Scotland international from 12 attempts.
