A high class renewal of the Yorksire Oaks, with no less than five individual Group 1 winners in the field. Love Everlasting returned to form in a Listed event at Newbury last time, but that leaves her with a lot to find in this. She will have no problem with the fast ground and has nothing to fear from Zanzibar, who was four lengths behind her that day. The latter, who was making her seasonal debut that day is entitled to come on for the outing and should finish closer to her this time. Lady's Secret, Mellow Park, who will be visored for the first time, Irresistible Jewel and Starbourne all have plenty to do to reverse Irish Oaks form with Quarter Moon. Irresistible Jewel had previously won the Group 2 Ribblesdale Stakes at the Royal meeting on fast ground, and she may not have handled the testing conditions in Ireland. She could well prove the pick of those. Quarter Moon, the winner of the Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes as a juvenile, has kept company with the best this year, on all types of ground. She was reportedly in season when behind Islington in the Group 1 Nassau Stakes at Goodwood and she should make the frame without being quite good enough to win. The winner of three Group 1s, Kazzia will be a tough nut to crack. She showed admirable courage when winning both the Sagitta 1000 Guineas and the Vodafone Oaks on different types of ground and whatever beats her will win. Islington, below par on the soft ground at Epsom, is taken to gain her revenge. The winner of the Musidora over this course back in May, she failed to handle the testing conditions in the Oaks, but back on her favoured fast surface at Goodwood, she was very impressive when demolishing a useful field. She has yet to prove she stays this far, but her mother Hellenic won this race back in 1990 and she is also a half-sister to the high class middle-distance performer Greek Dance, so she should actually improve for this trip. Sulk, the winner of the Prix Marcel Boussac-Royal Barriere last back-end, has been slow to come too hand this term, but did show signs that she was on the way back when a never nearer runner-up to Islington at Goodwood. She needs to come on again if she is to take a hand in this. German raider Guadalupe, the winner of the Italian Oaks, looks to have plenty on in this and may be better suited to more give underfoot.
