This is not the strongest of nurseries to have every been staged at York and only a handful make any real appeal for punting purposes. Esti Ab,Great Scott, and Boule d'Or are all respected, but marginal preference is for Lucayan Beauty, who just edges out Go Solo as the more favourably draw. The selection responded well to the Fallon drive when getting off the mark over a mile in a competitive heat at Pontefract late last month - where the daughter of Marju relished every yard of the trip but was still afforded the luxury of being able to ease down near the finish. Lucayan Beauty was good value for her winning margin on that occasion and, with Go Solo drawn out in the car park, she must have a solid chance of reversing Doncaster form with her Barry Hills-trained rival with the champion back in the plate. A 4lb rise since her Pontefract success does not make life easy for Lucayan Beauty on this occasion, but with her proven ability over the trip and considering that Go solo also creeping up the weights, she may represent the better value of the two today. A close eye should also be kept on Esti Ab, who is interesting now that he is taking on handicap company for the first time.
