        Verdict

        Alambic can land his hat-trick at the expense of Lefonic and Phoebe Woodstock. The selection has notched up wins at Musselburgh and Folkestone this season and connections are keen to race with a penalty rather than wait to be reassessed by the handicapper. That alone suggests that the horse has a great chance of winning so with that in mind all he needs to do is repeat what he has already achieved and he should win again. Lefonic has won twice this season also at Wolverhampton and Lingfield but they have been both below standard races and more will be needed to score here. While Phoebe Woodstock has no wins from seven starts and has to lump top weight around after some decent efforts last year as a three year old but has so far this season failed to recapture some of her old sparkle so for the winner we return to Alambic.
