John Gosden has made a quick start and newcomer ILLUMINATIVE is selected ahead of Heading East and Keep Ringing. A son of the 'US Horse of the Year' at 3 Point Given, the selection looks to be starting off at the right trip. Already a gelding, the signs would point to him not having the most straight-forward career to date but he can make up for lost time with a win assuming the market vibes are positive. Heading East is officially rated 72, a mark that is perhaps a tad high. He was very disappointing when last seen at Beverley in August but if he has improved over the winter then he could go well on this all-weather debut. Dhania and Lastroarofdtiger are both open to improvement after one start apiece, but a bigger danger may be Keep Ringing. The only filly in the line-up has shaped with promise on two Lingfield starts so far where she has shaped as if ready for this longer trip. Her pedigree seems to support that view and she is considered a big threat receiving 5lbs, however it is Illuminative who can win on his debut.
