Verdict

DESPERATE DAN can prove anything but against Total Impact and Colorus. Although the draw of one is hardly ideal, Andy Haynes charge is a model of consistency in lesser grade and the booking of Tom Queally appears eyecatching under the circumstances. Total Impact ran a below par race at Lingfield last Friday. The seven-year-old might just be better around Southwell and with the winner of that claimer running a shocker at Lingfield on Wednesday, the percentage call is that of opposition. Colorus is another Southwell specialist. He is entirely workmanlike if not particularly spectacular. Tournedos was running in listed company on the turf last year so this is a very distinct drop in sights. Kheley has place claims while Latin Connection should not be good enough. Desperate Dan can forge ahead close home.
