Verdict

A poor turn out for a race that, in truth, attracted very little interest even at the five-day stage. However, the lack of numbers is unlikely to have any affect on the way course specialist Just Wiz runs his race and he is confidently expected to cope with his three rivals today. Orinocovsky, who joined the Nick Littmoden yard after winning a similar race at Southwell at the start of the year, makes more appeal than Myrtus and Tolaga Bay and is expected to give his stablemate the most to think about. But he has failed to sparkle in his recent outings and, with only one previous visit to Wolverhampton his name, he lacks experience of the surface and may have to settle for second best today. Therefore, as unoriginal as it seems, there seems to be little point in deserting Just Wiz, who could almost go round here blindfolded and still have a little in hand of the rest if he draws on his vast knowledge of his favourite course.
