Oases may pay to follow here, with Gilly's General, Dasar and Ballygriffin Kid three main dangers. Another poor pre-Christmas event can see Oases gain some reward for his latest efforts in this company at Lingfield. He needs to be produced late and the ploy nearly worked last time as Darren Williams brought him with a good run up the rail, only for him to run out of steam inside the final furlong. That was over a mile, and the return to seven furlongs should pay dividends in his current mood. Gilly's General beat Dasar narrowly over the course and distance in April and should certainly uphold that form on these terms. In addition he ran well behind Cheese 'n' Biscuits here eight days ago and can give the selection most to do. Ballygriffin Kid gained a decisive success at Lingfield last week and should be in the frame, but gay Kelleway's four-year-old will do well to give weight away all round, and we return to Oases as the answer
