Desert Heat can make the most of the weight that he receives from Scottish River, with La Puce and Dancing King two more live dangers in an open affair. Desert Heat finally opened his account when given a good ride by Tony Culhane here the time before last. That was after being beaten in a seller just two days before, but aided by first-time blinkers, Ian Semple's charge showed his win to be no fluke when humping 10st 3lb into second place behind Geronimo last week, and back over a more suitable trip, should again give a good account. Scottish River will obviously be a tough nut to crack but does have topweight to overcome, and although we would not want to put anyone off, weight can stop a train. La Puce is at the other end of the weights and comes into the reckoning after his success here last time. The trainer put that down to the slower surface and a more positive ride so expect more of the same today. Dancing King is very much in form at present so has to be respected along with Givemethemoonlight who has actually beaten a few of these on various occasions. A tricky affair can go to Desert Heat.
