MUFTARRES can reward his handler's patience by taking another step forwards here; he may have most to fear from Mullein and Bonnie Prince Blue with Arabian Art another to consider. Muftarres didn't make his debut until June of this year but showed promise and duly won modest contests on his next two starts. He looked a little green when showing improved form in defeat at Newbury and produced another sound performance when dropped back to five furlongs at Sandown. He seems in need of this trip now and has the fast ground that he requires and can continue his education here. Mullein is feared most as Ralph Beckett's filly was strongly fancied to win Ayr's Silver Cup only to flounder in the heavy ground. Conditions here are currently riding fast but rain is forecast and her form suggests that if the ground rides good or easier then that will be to her advantage. She still appeals as being well treated and will be fancied to go close. Arabian Art was doing all of her best work in the closing stages over five furlongs at Leicester and will be more effective at this longer trip whilst Bonnie Prince Blue showed signs of returning to form at Doncaster when staying on from off the pace. He has slipped back down to a winning mark and could run a big race but we'll take a chance with Muftarres.
