Ashwell Lad, Troglodyte and Native City catch the eye here and Native City gets the vote. Ashwell Lad was made favourite to score on his bumper debut at Plumpton, but faded to finish fourth. That was a promising effort though and he can be expected to come on for the experience. Troglodyte was sent off a big price for his Fakenham bow but ran a very encouraging race, staying on well to take third. He can be finishing well when others have cried enough. Native City is a JP McManus owned debutant from the Jonjo O'Neill yard. He may well turn out to be the best selection in a wide open race where the market should be heeded. Native City can lead them home.
