led to 4th, stayed prominent, ridden after 10th, soon weakened, tailed off when pulled up before 5 out
keen, in touch, headway 13th, ridden to chase winner from 4 out, stayed on same pace
in touch, headway 12th, chased winner 13th to 4 out, weakened next
held up, ridden 12th, kept on from 2 out, never dangerous
prominent, led 4th, clear 3 out, mistake last, driven out
tracked leaders, hit 9th, 4th and weakening then fell 5 out
jump right, always behind, tailed off when pulled up before 5 out
Pharpost makes the odd blunder or two but he can account for Commanche Hero and Bassano. Venetia Williams' charge seems at his best in small fields and while he is not adverse to the odd error, there is every chance that a short break will have reawakened his enthusiasm. Commanche Hero ran poorly on his last race but he handles fast ground and should not be inconvenienced by the trip. Blazing Hills is held on that line of form. Bassano is plenty exposed but another who will handle the surface and is not totally out of this despite the fact that he will need to find a few pounds on the book. Jacquemart Colombe used to run for Guillame Macaire in France and is watched in the market. Red Perk has been disappointing of late. Monty's Quest was entered to run on Wednesday at Market Rasen. Having considered the alternatives, Pharpost is our selection.
