In depth

Verdict

The short list contains Golden Streak, Annie's Answer and Curved Air, with the vote going to Golden Streak. A 50,000 guineas purchase, Golden Streak won well at Worcester last time and, with Tony McCoy booked, can go well. Annie's Answer won well over course and distance last time and could be an interesting prospect, while Curved Air was second on soft going in a course and distance bumper on her debut so also gets some respect. Finally, Sue Smith runs Fota Island's brother, Bobdaman, but he was pretty cheaply acquired, and Gappersonneldotcom showed promise on his debut and is entitled to some thought, while William's Way hinted at some ability too first time up. Overall, though, the vote stays with Golden Streak.
