A wide open bumper rounds off the card and as usual in this type of event the market will be all important but the principals look to be Mam Ratagan, Arctic Ghost and Spitfire Sortie and the vote is given to Mam Ratagan. The selection was outclassed at Aintree but prior to that she had won on her debut in good style. This contest looks within her grasp and she need only run up to that mark to win this and defy her penalty. Arctic Ghost rates the main danger on his latest third behind Phardessa but he has already given the impression he will be seen to better effect over a longer trip. Spitfire Sortie looked useful on his debut but has not gone on from there and may be best watched. Black Ven hails from a yard that does well in these events and this Presenting gelding out of an unraced mare should be closely watched in the market. However, for the winner we are happy to return to Mam Ratagan who is taken to put her experience to good use.
