The ground will be the key to this contest, as most of the field appear to need a sound surface. Rudi Knight makes plenty of appeal and as a hold up horse, he should be able to be slotted in and see out the two-and-a-half miles trip. However, he will have to find a finishing kick and the likes of saint Par and Rocky Island are at the top of their game at present and will be hard to pass if the pace is strong. Dream Of Nurmi also comes into the reckoning now that he seems to have ironed out his quirks about jumping off with the rest of the field at the start of his races. Connections of Zaffre Noir will be praying for rain and their charge could well capitalise if the weather conspires in his favour.
