In depth

Verdict

A tough race to call here for punters with very little between many of the leading fancies but the principals look to be Commanche Jim, Sir Cumference and Never Awol and the narrow vote is given to Sir Cumference. The selection was a fair second behind Channarlie last time out. This looks easier and he need only run up to that mark to score. Never Awol rates the main danger as he won well over course and distance last time out when beating Bay Island, but he is far from straightforward and he may struggle under his penalty. Commanche Jim is another worthy of respect on his latest second behind Kausse de Thaix but he continues to rise in the weights without winning and for that reason he is opposed. Gola Supreme is game and consistent and is sure to run his race but he is another that looks weighted up to his best. Jack Fuller is worthy off respect on his best form but he may just need the run after a 227 day absence and for the winner we return to Sir Cumference.
